We are excited to announce that the Rhode Island Business Plan Competition will be hosting seven public events starting Nov 4, and running through next March. All the events, free and open to the public, will be held at Tech Collective’s new quarters at 166 Valley St. in Providence. Anyone may attend, whether or not they have intend to apply to the 2016 competition.
“Many people tell us that attending the events help them shape their business idea – by hearing from experts and getting answers to critical questions,” said Peter Lowy, executive director of the Rhode Island Business Plan Competition.
The MedTech Development Road-Map workshop on Nov. 4 will feature a panel of four experts who will offer advice on MedTech commercialization. Then, on Dec. 3, the annual Rhode Island Elevator Pitch Contest will give participants a chance to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges, who will give immediate feedback, and a chance to share in $1,000 in cash prizes.
Established in 2000, the Rhode Island Business Plan Competition has been recognized as one of the top 40 business plan competitions in the country. To date, it has awarded more than $1.8 million in prizes to competitors developing companies across many industries. The Competition is free and open to everyone age 18 or over whether or not they already have started a business.
